Yoga

Christine Chemello

As a singer/actor Christine has been studying voice and movement for over 20 years. Working as a performer, she felt challenged by a world filled with ego and judgment and decided to connect with the breath and movement relationship as a way to get focused and fit. Studying hatha yoga, the elation became tenfold as asana (postures) and pranyama (breath) were practiced along with meditation.
Christine holds an RYT-200 certificate from Namaste Yoga, Royal Oak MI. She has over 2000 hours of teaching experience and continues her studies at every opportunity. She has attended workshops with yoga masters such as David Swenson (Ashtanga), Sean Corn (Vinyasa), Lilias Folan (cross disciplinary), and Monica Voss (Esther Myers) to name a few.
With these and other amazing teachers to inspire her, Christine investigates the newest developments in physical, mental, and energetic body orientated research to help her students evolve in their practice and capitalize on yoga’s multidimensional healing qualities.

Christine currently teaches at both the east and west locations.  Call for her class times 519-944-0404 (east), 519-253-9919 (west)

Merri Gerardi

Merri has always had a natural love and ability for teaching.  This inherent skill was immediately transformed and brought to life when her 13 year old daughter was out-of-the-blue diagnosed with scoliosis, a condition in which the spine begins to twist and turn and as a result deviate from neutral alignment.  It was suggested that Merri enroll her daughter in yoga classes as a way to help manage this condition.  After some research and investigation Merri began to study yoga and to teach her daughter yoga poses, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises.  Her daughter’s body responded well to this natural healing modality.  Since this time Merri has been regularly teaching and studying yoga.  Enjoy Merri’s classes at our east location.
